\nI like your point about it being much better orally. I think that the problem is that we forced it into a medium which it was never designed for. It seems like watching a DVD of a play or Cirque de Solei or something; you get the main idea of the story, but there's no way to experience it completely without actually being there.","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[],"more":0}]},{"id":"42268462","dateCreated":"1315689518","smartDate":"Sep 10, 2011","userCreated":{"username":"rmscott2","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/rmscott2","imageUrl":"https:\/\/ssl.wikicdn.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"},"monitored":false,"locked":false,"links":{"self":"https:\/\/bsuhonorshum.wikispaces.com\/share\/view\/42268462"},"dateDigested":1532652837,"startDate":null,"sharedType":"discussion","title":"Odyssey","description":"When you sit down and think of it, Odysseus' men really aren't that bright. It wasn't something I had really thought of before, but between opening the bag of wind, slaughtering Helios' cows, and having to go all the way back to Circe's island to bury one guy, they do tend to do there fair share of causing delays for this whole journey. Maybe that was done on purpose though. Maybe it was just used for comparison? Like, hey, these guys really aren't that bright, but look at Odysseus! Isn't he clever?
