I really like the role that Athena has in helping Odysseus and his son. The fact that she is a woman and is capable of all these things definitely says something about the creators of this story. Personally I believe that the author(s) revered women and perhaps even feared them a little. Just my opinion based on the positives and negatives we see in the women in the story.","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[],"more":0}]},{"id":"42070550","dateCreated":"1315360414","smartDate":"Sep 6, 2011","userCreated":{"username":"mscothartman","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/mscothartman","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/pic\/1282414428\/mscothartman-lg.jpg"},"monitored":false,"locked":false,"links":{"self":"https:\/\/bsuhonorshum.wikispaces.com\/share\/view\/42070550"},"dateDigested":1532652935,"startDate":null,"sharedType":"discussion","title":"odyssey","description":"yes, it would really be difficult to be caught between the whims of two gods in dispute.
