October 23, 2013 To: Students currently completing HONRS 201 or 202Re: Continuing into HONRS 202 or 203 within the same cadreAs you know, students currently in HONRS 201 or 202 have the option to continue the sequence the following term with the same cadre of students and the same instructor. Because the new registration system provides for immediate registration and does not utilize a “course request” period, it is critical that any student desiring to continue within the same cadre make their request known to the Honors Collegebefore the registration period begins. If you want to exercise this option, please read and follow the following instructions:Before NOON, FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 1 you must come to the Honors House Registration Desk and physically “sign the roster” for the appropriate Spring 2014 course. At that time you will receive a special course request number (CRN) valid only for those who come and sign. You must register for your Spring 2014 courses at some time after your first available opportunity (your “time stamp” assignment) and before noon, Friday, November 8. Your special CRN will not be valid after Noon, November 8. Signing the roster and receiving the special CRN reserves a seat for you, but does not obligate you to actually register for the seat. It’s possible that when you build your schedule you find that you cannot continue with the cadre---and that’s okay. Our goal through this process is to reserve seats for students who have every expectation that they can and will continue in the sequence while making available the remaining seats to the other 99% of Honors College students who need a seat in the course.JWEJohn EmertAssociate Dean, The Honors College
