Parody Assignment

The parody assignment has five (or six) parts:
  1. Real-author biography (this may be a copy from another source)
  2. Psuedo-author biography of the fictional author of the parody
  3. A segment of text from the original. Identify the segment of text you are parodying. You don't need to provide a copy.
  4. A parody text (no length requirement)
  5. A summary of the rest of the parody if the text is long (optional)
  6. An analysis that explains what carried over well from the original text to the parody, what didn't work or what needed to be left out, what readers can learn about the original from the parody, and what the parody teaches us about the the original, about ourselves, and about American culture. The analysis should be about 700 words.
